Sweet Baby Snuggles

This post is all about sharing the 3-part photo shoot with my niece, Gracelyn. I was lucky enough to be able to stay at my sisters' house when we went to Atlanta for Imaging, USA, and able to squeeze in some photos of little Gracelyn while I was there. So, of course, I have to share!

This was probably my favorite of the session:
Gracelyn had just woken up from her nap, and the window light was just lovely!

We got a few more in the lovely light, as Beth got her dressed and changed:

Then I went out and looked for the light  and best areas to photograph while Mama fed baby-"big brother" Hoss was my model:

We were able to get a precious few photos outside of Mom, Dad, and baby together:
She was more interested in Hoss than me, though!

We only stayed outside for a very short time, as it was getting cold and dark very quickly. We came back in, I set the boppy pillow and a soft blanket up on the dining room table , turned her until I could see the light in her eyes, and put daddy to work making her giggle:

Mommy took her soon after, and I captured them by the tree:

She was starting to get a bit fussy at this point, so I stopped trying to photograph her, and just held her so her mama could eat.

I did get a few more of her the morning we left, and a couple of them are my favorite-this first one especially!

I love this expression!

Getting back to posting...a few from a shoot before Christmas

I have mostly gone to posting over at my other blog, http://scrappinmargie.blogspot.com/, but I am trying to get back to posting my photography here. Today I am sharing a few from a shoot before Christmas with one of my twin daughters. She's twelve going on twenty, as they all seem to be these days!
The idea for this shoot was a bit of a society girl, with a lace dress, heels, fur wrap, and pearls. The holly bushes behind my house added just a bit of a Christmas-y feel to the shoot.

We did a few without her glasses, but she said she felt much more confident with them on-and I have to say, they do look super cute on her!

Wrapping Up 2012...Welcome 2013!

I am finally getting around to posting a few pictures from December (so many to edit, so little time!)...
The twins had fun at Chasity's awesome birthday party:
The kids (Evan, Natalie, and Cecilia) played and won a lot of basketball games:
I am dying over Natalie's expression, as she watches Cecilia take a free throw shot:
I went the kiddos' Christmas program (can't believe it's Evan's last year there...):
I took the kids to the skating rink with their church youth group:

Over the weekend, the big kids were gone (grandparents and friends' houses), so I took the little ones to see some christmas lights:

And our church's drive-thru Nativity scenes:

I saw an idea on Pinterest, and wanted to try it, so I made fruit trees for the kids' class Christmas parties:

I made sweets to give out to family (yummm....peanut butter balls!):

We did another Pinterest recipe, Bacon Explosion (not recommended for the faint of heart or anyone with cholesterol problems- but soooo good!):

We enjoyed Christmas with the family (I have tons of pictures of this, but I will just share one that sums up the spirit of the season for me):
We left out cookies and milk for Santa:

Here is a favorite of my tree:

It actually snowed on Christmas night, and the day after Christmas I was able to take this photo:

We were pretty low-key and relaxed for the days following Christmas, and welcomed the New Year at home with the twins and a Storage Wars marathon. And toasted 2013 with sparkling glass of champagne:

I enjoy the chance to pull out our crystal champagne flutes from our wedding and use them once or twice a year!
