Silver white winters that melt into springs, these are a few of my favorite things..." I am instantly reminded of this song when I look at these photos I took of Natalie and Cecilia during our little bit of snow on the day before Valentine's Day.
Natalie:
Cecilia:
Together (don't they look thrilled!):
And, doing what they wanted to do-make snowballs to throw at each other (and me):
Ah, the joy of being 8! I love these girls!-even when they drive me crazy! So, the very first picture I shared is also my picture for Project 52: Week 7 "True Love".

Project 52...Weeks 5 and 6 ("Shadows" and "Drink Up")
I am a little late for week 5, so I thought I would just combine it with week 6! Here is my entry for week 5, the view from my front porch, early in the morning:

And my entry for Week 6, "Drink It Up", my Red Velvet Brownie Body By Vi shake:
I have to say, this is the yummiest, most filling diet shakes I have ever had! Alot of my friends are doing the program, so I thought I would try it, too, since my weight loss kind of stalled a bit... The Body By Vi Shake mix smells and tastes like cake mix... SOO GOOD! There are so many recipes to try, but this one (I made it up) is my favorite so far! The recipe:2 scoops of Body By Vi Shake mix, 1 Tbsp cocoa powder, 1/2 container red velvet yogurt, 8 oz fat free milk (I used unsweetened light vanilla almond milk by Silk), 1 Tbsp fat free sugar free cheesecake pudding mix, several drops red food coloring, and about 6-8 ice cubes, and blend! So yummy!(oops I think I said that already!) If you are interested in finding out more about Body by Vi, click the link to be taken to my Body By Vi website:
I would love for you to join me! I will be posting more yummy recipes as I come up with them (and when I remember to take pictures!)

The most beautiful girl in the world...
Or one of them at the very least! I actually talked my 12 year old into doing a photo shoot with me, and I was so excited! Here are some of my favorites from the shoot:
Look at those incredible blue eyes:
Love this soft and sweet smile:
Trying some posing techniques with the hands (it felt a little silly since she's only 12)
Love all of the light in her eyes(and that smile!)
I tried some fun lens flare here:
Some more posing practice and her "model pout":
I like that she still looks 12 in this one-even though it's a little on the hazy side, it may be my favorite of the day!
I found (via Two Peas In A Bucket and Jill) the most fantastic resource for learning photography, and it's FREE: Youtube! Here is a tutorial on Eye Placement in photographs, and lots more great tutorial videos.

Project 52...Week 3...I dreamed a dream
I skipped a week, so, when I felt I had an appropriate photo, I decided to go back and post, so I'll be caught up. Confusing enough? Anyway, I caught this shot of my son sleeping with the dog:
and this one (love those gorgeous eyelashes!):

Project 52, Week 4: Self Portrait
I know, I know, I skipped week 3...I will get back to it when I get the chance. But for now, here is my photo for the Week 4 challenge:
Taking a backlit photo of yourself is hard! I used a twig as my focal point, and then jumped into position (trying to make sure I was on the same plane) as quickly as possible. It's a little hazy, but it was one of the better captures. CC always welcome!

Project 52... Made With Love
This week the challenge was to take photos following the theme of "Made With Love". So as I was taking my Christmas tree down (I was trying to leave it up for Valentine's Day, but the hubs wouldn't have it ;-) ), I took a photo of my Christmas gift:
From my adorable nephew:
